What resolution and format are the downloaded images?
Images are saved in their original format (typically JPEG) at the full resolution uploaded by the creator. We never compress, resize, or re-encode — what you download is identical to what was posted on Threads.
Can I save the photo directly to my iPhone Camera Roll?
Safari will save the file to your Files app under Downloads first. Open Files, long-press the image, and tap "Save Image" to move it to your Photos library. It takes about five seconds.
Does downloading a Threads photo also save the caption or metadata?
The image file itself is downloaded without embedded caption metadata. If you need the caption text, copy it from the Threads post before downloading.
Why does my downloaded photo look lower quality than it appears in the app?
This rarely happens, but Threads sometimes serves a lower-resolution preview URL in its page source. If the downloaded image looks soft, try re-pasting the post URL to fetch a fresh set of links — CDN URLs can change over a few hours.
Can I download photos from Threads profiles I do not follow?
